Mariah Carey [məˈɹaɪə ˈkɛəɹi], née le 27 mars 1969 à Huntington (Long Island, État de New York), est une auteure-compositrice-interprète, productrice et actrice américaine. Elle est révélée en 1990 par son premier album Mariah Carey porté par la chanson Vision of Love qui fait d'elle une artiste reconnue dans son pays et à l'international.

Elle enchaîne par la suite les succès sur d'autres d'albums Emotions (1991), MTV Unplugged (1992) un premier album live, Music Box (1993), Merry Christmas (1994) avec le titre All I Want for Christmas Is You, Daydream (1995) dont le premier titre Fantasy d'influence hip-hop marque son évolution musicale vers plus de r’n’b, Butterfly (1997), #1's (1998) et Rainbow (1999).

Après l'échec commercial de son album et de son film Glitter en 2001, elle retrouve le succès en 2005, avec l'album The Emancipation of Mimi grâce au titre We Belong Together. Par la suite elle continue de sortir des albums mais ont moins de succès que les précédents. Glitter connaît un regain d'intérêt en 2018. Son nouvel album Here For it All est sorti le 26 septembre 2025.

Elle contribue en parallèle à des œuvres caricatives. L'une d'elle porte son nom le Camp Mariah à New York un séjour de vacances pour enfants où l'accent est mis sur la sensibilisation aux carrières.
